Description
Fast roping is inherently dangerous… particularly when transporting heavy loads. The RDX® fast rope device from Roco can make all fast rope operations safer by providing added descent control, especially during tandem operations, with equipment, or K-9s.
Simple to operate the RDX® is used in conjunction with standard fast rope techniques. The device consists of a customized rope with an integrated Friction Control Pad (FCP) and two sewn eyelets one at each end.
Configured in a “sandal wrap” friction knot on a fast rope the RDX® allows for a controlled descent similar to an “auto block” knot. It also reduces the heat typically generated by fast rope operations which may allow the use of a single pair of leather gloves rather than heavy-duty or a double pair of gloves.
Multiple RDX® users can effectively fast rope simultaneously on a single rope. Tandem (equipment or K-9) fast rope operations can be accomplished safely by using the RDX®. The maximum total loaded weight while using the RDX® is 350 lbs.
Compact, lightweight and durable, the RDX® can easily be stowed in a cargo pocket. It can also be used as an anchor sling (22kN), tie-down, K-9 leash, etc.
WARNING: Proper training in the use of the RDX® is required prior to use. Proper care storage and inspection of the RDX® is required.
