“ANSI Z359 as well as OSHA 1926.502(d)(20) require employers to provide the prompt rescue of employees in the event of a fall, or assure that employees are able to perform self-rescue.”
Roco’s Suspended Worker Rescue training is designed for safety and simplicity while minimizing exposure to the rescuer. This 20-hour course will train workers for safe and effective “self-rescue” when possible and prepare them for “assisted rescue” when required. The course includes hands-on techniques for rescuing a co-worker who is suspended from a personal fall arrest system (PFAS). Team rescue operations will be presented in order to prevent or minimize suspension trauma hazards for fallen workers. Special emphasis will be placed on self-rescue, assisted rescue, line transfers, descent control systems, lowering techniques, haul systems, and the hazards of suspension trauma. Safe, simple techniques will be used along with the latest and most effective equipment. Pros and cons of the various systems will be thoroughly covered.
