PRE-ENGINEERED RESCUE SYSTEMS

Roco's Suspended Worker Rescue using pre-engineered rescue systems is designed for safety and simplicity while minimizing exposure to the rescuer. The advantages of using pre-engineered rescue systems are: easy to learn/maintain the required skills and rapid deployment. The major disadvantage is the victim must be within reach of the telescopic pole in order to make a remote attachment. If access to the victim can only be accomplished by committing a rescuer onto a rope system, this course would not be suitable. Our 20 hour Suspended Worker Rescue course would be appropriate in that instance.
This 8-hour course will train workers for safe and effective "self-rescue" when possible and will prepare them for "assisted rescue" when required. It also includes hands-on techniques for rescuing a co-worker who is suspended from personal fall arrest systems (PFAS). The capabilities and limitations of pre-engineered systems are covered with extensive practice employing the various systems.
NOTE: This course is suitable for the employer that has done a thorough evaluation of their facility and determined that any fallen suspended worker can be accessed from a point above the suspended worker. The use of pre-engineered systems allow rescuers to remotely access the victim as long as the victim is within reach of the telescopic rescue pole (no more than approximately 12 feet).
