Capital Safety/Roco Fall Protection Competent Person

Competent Person Training is designed for managers and immediate supervisors of authorized persons or individuals working at height. It will provide the latest knowledge and skills for those who are responsible for the supervision, implementation and monitoring of a managed fall protection program.

Students will expand their knowledge and ability to identify hazardous conditions, develop programs and make equipment selections to properly deal with fall hazards. Based on the requirements of OSHA, the new ANSI Z359.2 Standard and CSA, both written and practical examinations will be included. It is a pass/fail program.

Upon successful completion, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded OSHA, ANSI and CSA requirements as a Competent Person. This course also includes Competent Inspector training.

  • Traditional Fall Protection (e.g. handrails, guardrails, etc.)
  • Fall Restraint systems
  • Fall Arrest systems 
  • Fall protection rescue procedures
  • Selection and use of non-certified anchorages
  • Competent person responsibilities
