Firefighter Escape Train-The-Trainer

NOTICE: This is a physically demanding course. Acknowledgement of fitness and waiver of liability must be submitted with application.

When every second counts, an emergency rope egress system may be your only means of escape and your only chance of survival. Advances in technology have made it possible for trapped firefighters to have a much greater chance of survival...provided they have the proper skills and equipment.

This intense, physically demanding course will provide the knowledge, skills and experience for Training Officers to prepare firefighters for just such an emergency. Realistic drills will be used for practicing skills as well as learning how to set-up effective teaching stations. Participants will learn how to relay these specialized techniques to others while keeping safety and efficiency a top priority.

Topics will include: hazard assessment, remote anchoring, window anchoring, exit point line-loading, descent control, room traverse, zero visibility, on-air scenarios, individual and company egress and rooftop operations.
