Capital Safety/Roco Fall Protection Competent Inspector

Hours: 4 (12pm-4pm)
Prerequisites: None

The competent inspector course is designed for the professional user or supervisor that is charged with setting up an inspection program and/or conducting inspection on fall protection equipment. The student will be guided through Capital Safety/Roco, OSHA, ANSI and CSA inspection criteria on body harnesses, connection and anchorage devices. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a certificate acknowledging they have met or exceeded requirements to run and manage their fall protection equipment inspection program.

This training session can be conducted as a private training course.
NOTE: This course is included in the Competent Person course.

  • Legislation and standards applicable to fall protection equipment inspection
  • Inspection theory for harnesses, lanyards, shock absorbers, carabiners, anchorage connectors and self retracting lifelines
  • Equipment logs and recording the inspection
  • Practical equipment inspections of faulty gear
  • Review of technical bulletins
