Trench Rescue Technician

Prerequisites: None
This 20-hour Trench Rescue course includes extensive field exercises to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct basic trench rescue operations. An overview of OSHA regulations for Excavations/Trenching will include: shoring systems; hazard recognition and control methods; soil classification and mechanics; types of collapses; and patient care considerations. This course meets the competent person requirements for OSHA 1926.650. At the conclusion, students will be challenged with a realistic trench rescue scenario, in which they will install a shoring system using timber and pneumatic shores. This program meets NFPA 1006 requirements for Trench Rescue.
