The primary focus of this 50-hour course is more complex confined space scenarios along with elevated (high angle) rescue operations. Building upon the core skills learned in Roco Rescue I-Plus™, this course provides the additional skills needed and concludes with testing to the individual performance skills requirements listed in NFPA 1006 and 1670 (Confined Space Technician Level).
Technician-level skills and team response capabilities will be enhanced by extensive hands-on teaching stations and realistic problem-solving exercises, including on-air, simulated IDLH scenarios. This certification testing to a national consensus standard (such as NFPA) is an excellent means of documenting individual skills proficiency in accordance with OSHA 1910.146.
Rescue Tech II™ will prepare students for Roco’s Confined Space Rescue Technician certification testing, which includes individual skills proficiency, scenario-based performance evaluations and written exam. Roco certifications are valid for two years and can be renewed by completing our Rescue Tech II™ Recertification program.
NOTE: This course also contains many of the individual skill requirements of NFPA 1006 and NFPA 1670 (Rope Rescue Technician Level) with the exception of select skills such as rope ascension, high-lines and knot passing.
