PREREQUISITE: INDUSTRIAL I/II OR ROCO CERTIFICATON LEVEL COURSE
    40 HRS / FOUR 10-HR DAYS
    Early Regs: $1,195.00 / Late Regs: $1,295.00
    Gov. Discount: $100/Student

This predominantly “scenario-based” course will challenge individual rescuers (and teams) in a wide variety of confined space and high angle rescue exercises. With the addition of new and more advanced techniques, students will enhance their skills and teamwork abilities in numerous practice scenarios.

As the problems progress in difficulty, students get a feel for executing an entire rescue operation from start to finish. By placing specific time limitations on each scenario, Industrial Rescue III™ gives students the experience of “working under pressure,” just as in a real emergency.

For courses at the Roco Training Center (or as the training location allows), practice scenarios will be conducted in all six (6) confined space types as per OSHA criteria. Using more complex scenarios, including simulated IDLH atmospheres requiring the use of breathing air equipment (SAR and SCBA), this course will meet the minimum annual practice requirements of OSHA 1910.146

Scenarios will be graded for safety and efficiency by our professional instructors, who will provide a debriefing of strengths and areas for improvement – along with suggestions for enhancing effectiveness of operations. Industrial Rescue III serves as compliance documentation for confirming rescue capabilities and skills proficiency in various confined space and elevated evolutions.

    TEAM PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS (TPE)

    PREREQUISITE: NONE
    30 HRS / THREE 10-HR DAYS

Roco Team Performance Evaluations (TPE) are designed to simulate the pressures of emergency response. Confined space and elevated scenarios will be used to evaluate your team capabilities for safe, timely and proficient rescue response. Each scenario will be debriefed so that deficiencies can be identified and corrected.

For TPEs conducted at the Roco Training Center, all six confined space types will be included. For on-site sessions, available confined spaces located within the team’s response area will be used for the evaluation.

Teams will be scored on their rescue skills, response capabilities and patient care. A written report will document confined space types completed as well as scoring, strong points and areas for improvement. This program is a great way to attain third-party documentation of your team’s capabilities.

Call 800-647-7626 to schedule a TPE at your site or at Roco Training Center.

  • SUSPENDED WORKER RESCUE

    PREREQUISITE: NONE
    20 HRS / TWO 10-HR DAYS

"ANSI Z359 as well as OSHA 1926.502(d)(20) require employers to provide the prompt rescue of employees in the event of a fall, or assure that employees are able to perform self-rescue."

Roco’s Suspended Worker Rescue training is designed for safety and simplicity while minimizing exposure to the rescuer. This 20-hour course will train workers for safe and effective “self- rescue” when possible and prepare them for "assisted rescue" when required.

This course includes hands-on techniques for rescuing a co-worker who is suspended from a personal fall arrest system (PFAS). Team rescue operations will be presented in order to prevent or minimize suspension trauma hazards for fallen workers. Special emphasis will be placed on self-rescue, assisted rescue, line transfers, descent control systems, lowering techniques, haul systems, and the hazards of suspension trauma. Safe, simple techniques will be used along with the latest and most effective equipment. Pros and cons of the various systems will be thoroughly covered.

Call 800-647-7626 to schedule a class at your site or at Roco Training Center.

    PRE-ENGINEERED RESCUE SYSTEMS

    PREREQUISITE: NONE
    8 HRS / ONE 8-HR DAY
    (*Limited Applications)

Roco's Suspended Worker Rescue USING pre-engineered rescue systems is designed for safety and simplicity while minimizing exposure to the rescuer. The advantages of using pre-engineered rescue systems are: easy to learn/maintain the required skills and rapid deployment. The major disadvantage is the victim must be within reach of the telescopic pole in order to make a remote attachment. If access to the victim can only be accomplished by committing a rescuer onto a rope system, this course would not be suitable. Our 20 hour Suspended Worker Rescue course would be appropriate in that instance.

This 8-hour course will train workers for safe and effective "self-rescue" when possible and will prepare them for "assisted rescue" when required. It also includes hands-on techniques for rescuing a co-worker who is suspended from personal fall arrest systems (PFAS). The capabilities and limitations of pre-engineered systems are covered with extensive practice employing the various systems.

NOTE: This course is suitable for the employer that has done a thorough evaluation of their facility and determined that any fallen suspended worker can be accessed from a point above the suspended worker. The use of pre-engineered systems allow rescuers to remotely access the victim as long as the victim is within reach of the telescopic rescue pole (no more than approximately 12 feet).

Call 800-647-7626 to schedule a class at your site or at Roco Training Center.

    COMPETENT PERSON: FALL PROTECTION

    PREREQUISITE: NONE
    16 HRS / TWO 8-HR DAYS

Focusing on current OSHA and ANSI requirements, this course will provide the knowledge and skills for establishing or improving a worksite's comprehensive fall protection program. Trained as Competent Persons for Fall Protection, participants will receive practical experience in recognizing fall hazards and developing appropriate measures for reducing or eliminating these hazards.

Detailed preplan forms will be used to guide participants through the process of evaluation and preparing for fall hazards in the workplace. This will include Roco's "Fall Hazard Survey," which identifies fall hazards and uses the "hierarchy of fall protection" to provide the most protective and feasible solutions.

Roco's "Suspended Worker Rescue Preplan" will be covered in a live field exercise as well as demonstrations and practice rescues utilizing pre-engineered rescue systems. Participants will be exposed to a variety of modern fall protection equipment and receive guidance in selecting the proper equipment for greatest safety and efficiency.
